According to NY Daily News, Jim Kelly is hoping for some sort of QB controversy for Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow.
Jim Kelly is one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. He led the Bills to four straight Super Bowls, but fell short in all four of them. He hopes the New York Jets suffer in a different way than he did in the past, early this season.
The longtime Bills QB is still a big fan of the team, and hopes Tebow plays extremely well to create problems for the Jets organization throughout training camp. The Bills open up at the Jets to start the season, so in Kelly’s eyes, the more conflict for the Jets, the better off the Bills are.
Jim Kelly also recognizes that once Sanchez creates a major turnover in a game, the volatile Jets fans will be calling for Tebow. Just imagine if Sanchez throws a key pick in a game early in the season? The fans in green certainly wouldn’t be hesitant to chant for TebowMania to start in the Big Apple.
“I really, to be honest with you, don’t know what they were thinking,” Kelly said. “Me, if I was a general manager or a president or the owner of a team, I would not have done that.”
